Viparis stands out for its ability to host a wide variety of events, including numerous sporting events, since the very creation of the Parc Expo Porte de Versailles 100 years ago (gymnastics demonstrations in 1932, Tilden Tour tennis matches in 1933), and right up to the present day (5-a-side soccer tournament organized by Nike in 2010, LNB Champions Match in 2012, International Fencing Championship in 2015, FIFA Congress in 2019, European Poker Tour in 2024, etc.).Viparis has been able to adapt to new sporting events, hosting eSport and gaming competitions such as Rainbow 6 in 2018, as well as cementing a partnership with Karmine Corp from January 2022 to June 2024, initiated thanks to the hosting in 2021 of the first Karmine Corp Experience (KCX) at the Palais des Congrès de Paris.
Viparis plays a significant role in hosting sporting events, and also serving as a broadcast center for international media. During UEFA Euro 2016 and the Women’s World Cup, the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) was set up at Porte de Versailles. More recently, in 2024, Paris Le Bourget became the IBC for the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, while the Palais des Congrès de Paris was the Main Olympic Press Center. Viparis also plays a key role in hosting sports business events (Global Sports Week, Sporsora Trophies, etc.).
Viparis, co-artisan of the Paris 2024 bid, helped welcome the world to the heart of Paris during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. 4 of its 12 emblematic event venues were among the major hubs of the Games: hosting the preliminary phases of handball, weightlifting, volleyball, table tennis, boccia, goalball and para-table tennis at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles (Arena Paris Sud), as well as the preliminary phases of boxing, the modern pentathlon fencing event and seated volleyball at Paris Nord Villepinte (Arena Paris Nord).
