A large delegation from France Sport Expertise headed to Abidjan at the end of May to work at the Hospitality CAN and on sport development in Côte d’Ivoire.
Thank you to Prime Minister Patrick Achi and Minister of Sport Paulin Claude Danho for welcoming us in Abidjan. The Prime Minister emphasized the fact that “sport is business”.
French businesses are expected to work hand in hand with companies in Côte d’Ivoire to develop the country’s sports industry.
Great progress was made during discussions at the Rencontres Internationales des Grands Événements Sportifs Internationaux (International Meeting for Major International Sports Events) held abroad by Business France for the first time.
An excellent French team alongside the Ambassador for Sport, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Paris 2024 and the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) came together to promote cooperation between Côte d’Ivoire and France.
Thank you also to Ambassador Jean-Christophe Belliard and the French Embassy to Côte d’Ivoire for their hospitality.
Several objectives were outlined for the Prime Minister by our manager director Claire Rabès:
Working on delivering the ‘best CAN ever held’;
Sharing experiences and best practices to develop sport for all as the legacy of major sports events;
Developing a business relationship between Côte d’Ivoire and France’s sports industries based on the values of accessibility, performance and economic development.
A special thank you to Lucie Lenne, our on-site representative for Filière Sport!
