“Why is international investment in sport so dynamic?
This was the question that Isabelle de Cremoux, CEO of Seventure Partners, and Karim Ben Rejeb, Magaging Director at JPMorganChase, answered during the seventh edition of Prolongations, held last night in the Petit Auditorium of the Palais Brongniart in Paris.
From the rationale behind Seventure Partners’ launch of a fund dedicated to sports and health, to the creation of a global practice drawing on JPMorganChase’s dynamism and expertise in the US market, the speakers opened up a wide range of ideas, including:
- the asset class that sports could become, like tech or energy transition
the differences between investing in sports economy companies, clubs and league-type organizers - the potential for even greater financialization of sport, given the need to deploy capital to support a transformation involving a number of challenges: global competition, digital, environmental, societal, etc.
- the discussions raised a number of questions from the audience on subjects of concrete interest to business leaders and/or players in the sports economy. A number of issues were raised that are shared by the entire French sports economy collective.
France Sport Expertise warmly thanks both speakers for their enlightening contributions alongside our President Claude Revel. Thanks also to the participants for their presence and their many questions!
