Africa Cup of Nations 2023

The Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) football tournament is held in Africa and pits national teams against each other. The competition was created in 1957 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). It was held every second year from 1968, before switching to odd years in 2013.

For the 34th edition, Côte d’Ivoire was named the organizer for the second time, after first hosting CAN 1984. This edition was held in 2024 following planning issues in 2023 but retained the name CAN 2023.

It was a record-breaking edition on every front. The match was broadcast in over 170 countries, attracting some 2 billion viewers across the world. More than 5,000 journalists were given official accreditation.

Almost 2 million visitors headed to Côte d’Ivoire to support their teams. This represents an increase of more than 50% compared with the 2021 CAN held in Cameroon.

CAN is an excellent example of the success achieved by French businesses at an international level and a testament to the renown of French expertise and the ease with which it can be exported to other continents. This CAN was an opportunity for French businesses to demonstrate their extensive experience in this type of event.

Orange provided secure high-speed connectivity for worldwide broadcasts and to connect fans all over the world. In addition to relaying images, a unified IP architecture was set up for organizers and partners to improve telecommunications.

Manufacture of VIP dugouts on mobile platforms and football goals for all the competition’s major stadiums.

Alcor Equipements was part of the all-French group led by SOGEA SATOM in charge of construction of the Yamoussoukro stadium for CAN 23. We supplied and installed 29,000 seats for concrete stands (public seating, VIP and VVIP seats, seats and tables for media)
